Difference Between Jasper and Jade
I received one message about yellow jasper and yellow jade from one customer who came from Croatia yesterday.
We used to call Yellow Jasper as Yellow Jade sometimes in daily, as the meaning of Jasper and Jade are nearly same in Chinese, seems there’s no big difference when we translate the “Jasper” and “Jade”. As for the information of Jasper and Jade is lack of in our local website. Ordinary people are not know well of the name and source of these stones.
When i noticed this is a problem while we use the words to describe stones, i started to search online in different sites, it is necessary to get more information about them and then find the difference.
Meaning of Jasper
1.A red, iron-bearing chalcedony.( Similar meaning from other site: Any bright-coloured kind of chalcedony apart from cornelian.)
2.An opaque, impure variety of quartz, of red, yellow, and other dull colors, breaking conchoidally with a smooth surface.A stone that is usually red or brown and is used to make jewellery and ornamentssmall objects for decorating rooms.
Meaning of Jade
1.A hard stone that is usually green and is used in making jewellery and decorative objects.(Similar meaning from other site: A semiprecious stone either nephrite or jadeite, generally green or white in color, often used for carving figurines.)
Although there are dozens of different types of gems, among the best known and most important are diamond, ruby and sapphire, emerald and other gem forms of the mineral beryl, chrysoberyl, tanzanite, tsavorite, topaz and jade .

3.A bright green colour. A bright shade of slightly bluish or greyish green, typical of polished jade stones.

I have a jade stone with carvings on it does anybody know what it’s purpose is?
