What is black obsidian stone?

Obsidian is a natural black quartz stone, and is found in a number of places worldwide.
Obsidian is a stone with a shiny, glassy testure that is formed naturally when volcanic lave comes in contact with water. Obsidian is commonly found within the margins of rhyolitic lava flows known as obsidian flows, where the chemical composition (high silica content) induces a high viscosity and polymerization degree of the lava.

Obsidian is found in many countries, the locations including Hawaii, Japan, Iceland, Hungary, Mexico, Ecuador, and Guatemala.

It has an excellent spiritual grounding vibration and also has a strong psychic
protection energy. It has powerful metaphysical properties that will shield you against negativity.

Properties of Black Obsidan

Obsidian is a very grounding and centering stone. It’s an excellent aid to help you to release any negativity that your day to day life may have caused.

This negativity may be present within your auric field and needs to be removed,  to aid your ongoing physical, emotional and spiritual health.

This stone acts to remove any built up negativity caused by your own or others anger, fear, resentment and even stress, as well as aiding you to remove any negative attachments.

Obsidian is quite helpful when one is working with the 1st, Root/Base Chakra, as it will easily open and activate it.

The obsidian was used as a cutting tool by people. Obsidian was used to make scrapers, spear points, knives, arrowheads, scrapers and so on.

Used as jewelry. The obsidian stone is often cut into beads, pendants, cabochons, necklace and some other fashion jewelry.

Put them at home as decoration. Obsidian also used in hom decor, manufacturers made them as crafts or tumbled stones. I think it is a good choice to put obsidian items at home,
it combines the healing and decoration together.
